Feedback
from Meeting with Scott Macaulay-Lowe (14 November 2012) Cllr J Parsons reported back for the meeting with
Scott Macaulay-Lowe: Final proposal is to create a crossing at the old
shop site and another on Tetbury Hill.
This will include build outs on Tetbury Hill above the junction with
Star Lane and opposite the old shop with an additional build out directly
opposite the shop on High Street. The
white line outside the shop would be extended to Chapel gates. The estimates cost is in the region of
£22-24,000. Members expressed concern
about funding and were more in favour of the build out and crossing on Tetbury
hill rather than opposite the old shop site. It was agreed to wait for further communications
from Gloucestershire Highways. Cllr Slater advised that he has reported the
locations of pot holes. |

Community Issues |
|
· Update and to Discuss
the Future of the Village Shop and Post Office and Road Improvements Members were advised that the Council has been
requested informally to take over the shop which is failing. During discussion it was agreed that there
is a need for the supply of milk and newspapers and whilst the service may be
more successful if reduced to these commodities and a Post Office, Members
did not feel that the Council should take it over. |
Action: Action: Action: |
· Future Community
Projects Cllr Slater asked Members to give consideration
to future projects and to ask friends and neighbours for suggestions. In
the meantime, it was agreed: -
To investigate the
cost of wood cladding for the bus shelter in the layby opposite the Memorial
Hall. -
To investigate
possible grant funding from Sports England to create a dedicated sports pitch
on the Playing Field. -
To obtain quotes
for replacing the noticeboard at Nags Head. |

have been received from residents and Members raised the following issues: ·
The main gate on
the footpath has been padlocked by the occupants and there are reports of
more people occupying the site and creating more noise. ·
This is a retrospective
application following enforcement action. ·
The Council had
commented on the unsuitability of the caravan on this site in the past and as
it is still of the same opinion it should be repeated as strongly as possible. ·
The woodland is totally
unsuitable for full time occupancy. It was RESOLVED to request a copy of the
enforcement action which should be circulated to Members by email before the
formal response is made and to notify GCC PROW that the footpath has been
blocked. |
